I am in such a strange food mood today. And NO I am not pregnant;) for dinner I’m making ‘fiskefrikadeller’, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts with bacon?!? Where did that just come from!? I’m in this fall-Halloween-thanksgiving kinda mode, I guess that explains a part of this strange dinner menu. So in advance ‘sorry kids and Peter’. I hope you’re gonna like it anyways :)
Happy Friday and weekend y’all!

No more diapers for my big boy!

About two weeks ago we decided to help Asger with the potty a bit more because he had shown an interest in it. He told us that he wanted to go pee on the potty and if he accidentally peed in the diaper he told us immediately so that we could change the diaper asap. Suddenly he became very much aware of the feeling of a ‘dirty diaper’ and he really didn’t like it.

He showed us a lot of signs that he was ready to stop using diapers so we went with it. For the past two weeks he has only used a diaper at night, so all day at the daycare and at home he is diaper free :-) He wears a diaper at night but it is always dry when he wakes up in the morning. I think he was just ready, ahhh my big boy, growing up so fast! This transition has gone so much better than I expected. He has an accident here and there but thats to be expected. I am so proud of him :-)

We are having fun with Mormor these days :) Yesterday we painted on pumpkins and baked yummy banana chocolate chip muffins, yippee! Today Asger and mormor went to the zoo and had a great time. Asger practically showed mormor around the zoo, he has been there so many times, he knows exactly where all the animals live :-)

Happy Tuesday y’all!

Min lille nisse Mette and Asger at the summerhouse :-) Asger and farfar Lars. Caterpillar power!!!! Makes me so proud :-)

This weekend we went on a little weekend trip with some good friends. Or  actually, it was just me and Nora. Peter had to work at the hospital (buuhuuu) and Asger stayed with Peter’s parents. So just the girls and good friends. Asger had fun with farmor and farfar Lars and as you can see they found a Caterpillar and took this picture. Ohh it makes me so happy, hahaha :-)

Fall is here, finally! Beautiful colours, cooler weather and Halloween is coming up so we are decorating pumpkins this weekend ;) I LOVED fall in the US, it was just the best time a year. We always went to the Smokies in the fall, just a little weekend getaway with friends, ahhhhh I miss it!

I am happy to see that Halloween is a pretty big thing in Copenhagen too because Halloween is one of my absolute favourite American holidays! I love the pumpkin carving, the warm apple cider, dressing up, trick or treat, I just love it all!

Happy Sunday y’all!

Here are some really funny pictures of the kids. Peter took them last weekend when we celebrated my dad’s 60th birthday in Dronningmølle at the most wonderful place. Right by the water, such a beautiful place :-) It was fresh and cool and the kids loved the beach. I can’t stop laughing when I see these little muffins with their warm hats on, they look like tiny elfs, hahaha :-)

We had a great weekend, fantastic food, great people, songs, speeches and just a great party. Happy birthday day, we had a great time celebrating you with friends and family :-)

What a fun and busy weekend! Saturday we went to cousin Lasse’s baptism and Sunday we celebrated my good friend Birgitte’s birthday at the race track! What a fun idea! It was even ‘ladies day’ at the race track so all of the ladies were dressed up and wore hats, I loooove it. We had such a great time, we didn’t win anything though, we placed our bids on all the wrong horses!

I am sorry the blog has been very quiet lately, I have been busy getting used to school and everything… I am still adjusting, so bare with me :-)

Happy Wednesday y’all!

I am sorry the blog is so quiet these days!! I am busy adjusting to this new life style with school, getting up early in the morning and get the kids ready and out of the door by 8am, and then off to daycare… not easy!

This week in introduction week at my masters program and that means lots of practical information and social outings with the other new students. I wish I had more time to the blog but for the moment I have to use my energy elsewhere, focus on getting ready to study again, meeting new and interesting people and of course enjoy family time :-) So less time to write and take pictures. Again, I am sorry :-( It will get better I just need to find a new routine for all of this.

I have met some really nice people in my class (FSM), lots of international students, mostly from Norway and Germany. Tomorrow we are all going out to dinner so that should be fun :-)

Last night I ran the DHL race with Birgitte, Carita, Ina and Maja. It was my first time running DHL and it was so much fun! Such great atmosphere and people everywhere. My plan was to run those 5K as fast as possible and I gave it my all! I finished in 24 minutes, so YAY for me :-)

Here is a picture from this afternoon, the kids played in the garden with their animals :-)

Good night y’all!

This weekend we went to where farfar Lars’ works at, the Naval Station in Korsør, they had a yearly open house event where people are invited to go see all the vessels, helicopters and much more. Asger was in heaven! There was music, cool trucks, helicopters, needless to say, he was very impressed and had the best time!

After our trip to Korsør we drove straight to my good friend Astrid’s 30th birthday party. Astrid and her boyfriend Magnus had invited all of their friends and family to their summerhouse by the beach and we had a really nice time hanging out in the garden, playing games, eating yummy cakes and BBQ food, yum yum yum!

What a great day, friends and family, good times :-)

I hope y’all had a great weekend too!

This week is going to be pretty exciting for us, something new is going to happen and our little comfortable life with me staying at home is soon to be over as I am going back to school, starting tomorrow! I am excited and nervous! New people, new classes, new daily routines… It is going to take some time to adjust to this new situation, but I am sure we can make it work :-)

Wish me luck tomorrow!!!

Nugi at the doctor’s office last week. Shots are no fun, but she did really well my little Nugi. Here she is when we arrived, happy and playing with a doll, unaware of the shots to come :-( Afterwards I took her to the park and I met an old friend who I haven’t seen in many years, good times :-)
Happy Monday y’all!

Happy Monday y’all!

This is how it all started.. My sweet, but sick Nugi on the couch last Sunday ;(
Since Sunday everyone has been sick! I really don’t know what happened to us, but man, its not been pretty. Early Sunday morning Nora started to throw up and feel bad, my poor baby girl. Then we had my dad, Kasper and Annie over for dinner that same day. We had a great time and my dad cooked delicious food as always, we had salmon, salad, bread and a yummy sauce, ummm :-)
But, the next day Peter wasn’t feeling that great all of a sudden, hmm. Next up was me, Annie and my dad, and yesterday Kasper. We’ve all been sick over the past 4 days, NO FUN! The only one who hasn’t been sick so far is Asger. Fingers crossed that he won’t get this virus too, uggh!
Happy Thursday y’all and feel better everyone!

This weekend we met up with our friends Mads and Louise and their two kids Olivia and Oscar. They live in Saudi Arabia where Mads works for Arla and they were just home in Denmark to visit family and friends. We haven’t seen them in a very long time, so it was great to spend some time with them and their kids :-)

We actually visited Mads and Louise a few years ago (pre kids) when they lived in Egypt and we all went on a trip to Dahab, a little scuba diving paradise in the Sinai dessert. Great times!

The kids had a great time at Frilandsmuseet, a super cool place for kids with a big farm, animals, lots of nature :-)

I know the blog has been very quiet lately, we have all been sick! Buhuu, no fun! The weather has changed so fast here in Copenhagen and I think it is safe to say that fall is here. Just a week ago we had a warm summer breeze, but no more. It is windy, rainy and cold, ufff!

Happy Wednesday y’all!
