Highlights from the past week ;)
What a fun and busy weekend! Saturday we went to cousin Lasse’s baptism and Sunday we celebrated my good friend Birgitte’s birthday at the race track! What a fun idea! It was even ‘ladies day’ at the race track so all of the ladies were dressed up and wore hats, I loooove it. We had such a great time, we didn’t win anything though, we placed our bids on all the wrong horses!
I am sorry the blog has been very quiet lately, I have been busy getting used to school and everything… I am still adjusting, so bare with me :-)
Happy Wednesday y’all!
Last night Asger found out about the ice cream truck:) ding ding ding ice cream y’all!
I am sorry the blog is so quiet these days!! I am busy adjusting to this new life style with school, getting up early in the morning and get the kids ready and out of the door by 8am, and then off to daycare… not easy!
This week in introduction week at my masters program and that means lots of practical information and social outings with the other new students. I wish I had more time to the blog but for the moment I have to use my energy elsewhere, focus on getting ready to study again, meeting new and interesting people and of course enjoy family time :-) So less time to write and take pictures. Again, I am sorry :-( It will get better I just need to find a new routine for all of this.
I have met some really nice people in my class (FSM), lots of international students, mostly from Norway and Germany. Tomorrow we are all going out to dinner so that should be fun :-)
Last night I ran the DHL race with Birgitte, Carita, Ina and Maja. It was my first time running DHL and it was so much fun! Such great atmosphere and people everywhere. My plan was to run those 5K as fast as possible and I gave it my all! I finished in 24 minutes, so YAY for me :-)
Here is a picture from this afternoon, the kids played in the garden with their animals :-)
Good night y’all!
This weekend we went to where farfar Lars’ works at, the Naval Station in Korsør, they had a yearly open house event where people are invited to go see all the vessels, helicopters and much more. Asger was in heaven! There was music, cool trucks, helicopters, needless to say, he was very impressed and had the best time!
After our trip to Korsør we drove straight to my good friend Astrid’s 30th birthday party. Astrid and her boyfriend Magnus had invited all of their friends and family to their summerhouse by the beach and we had a really nice time hanging out in the garden, playing games, eating yummy cakes and BBQ food, yum yum yum!
What a great day, friends and family, good times :-)
I hope y’all had a great weekend too!
This week is going to be pretty exciting for us, something new is going to happen and our little comfortable life with me staying at home is soon to be over as I am going back to school, starting tomorrow! I am excited and nervous! New people, new classes, new daily routines… It is going to take some time to adjust to this new situation, but I am sure we can make it work :-)
Wish me luck tomorrow!!!
Nugi at the doctor’s office last week. Shots are no fun, but she did really well my little Nugi. Here she is when we arrived, happy and playing with a doll, unaware of the shots to come :-( Afterwards I took her to the park and I met an old friend who I haven’t seen in many years, good times :-)
Happy Monday y’all!
This is how it all started.. My sweet, but sick Nugi on the couch last Sunday ;(
Since Sunday everyone has been sick! I really don’t know what happened to us, but man, its not been pretty. Early Sunday morning Nora started to throw up and feel bad, my poor baby girl. Then we had my dad, Kasper and Annie over for dinner that same day. We had a great time and my dad cooked delicious food as always, we had salmon, salad, bread and a yummy sauce, ummm :-)
But, the next day Peter wasn’t feeling that great all of a sudden, hmm. Next up was me, Annie and my dad, and yesterday Kasper. We’ve all been sick over the past 4 days, NO FUN! The only one who hasn’t been sick so far is Asger. Fingers crossed that he won’t get this virus too, uggh!
Happy Thursday y’all and feel better everyone!
This weekend we met up with our friends Mads and Louise and their two kids Olivia and Oscar. They live in Saudi Arabia where Mads works for Arla and they were just home in Denmark to visit family and friends. We haven’t seen them in a very long time, so it was great to spend some time with them and their kids :-)
We actually visited Mads and Louise a few years ago (pre kids) when they lived in Egypt and we all went on a trip to Dahab, a little scuba diving paradise in the Sinai dessert. Great times!
The kids had a great time at Frilandsmuseet, a super cool place for kids with a big farm, animals, lots of nature :-)
I know the blog has been very quiet lately, we have all been sick! Buhuu, no fun! The weather has changed so fast here in Copenhagen and I think it is safe to say that fall is here. Just a week ago we had a warm summer breeze, but no more. It is windy, rainy and cold, ufff!
Happy Wednesday y’all!
Nugi loves watermelon :-)
Happy Monday y’all!
A little song for y’all on this lovely Thursday morning :-) This song is called Harvest by the band Death has no dominion. It is a fantastic song, I could listen to it all day long, it is so beautiful. It is Bjarke from Spleen United and Rasmus who made this band. I used to work with Rasmus at Won Hundred. He and Pernille now has the label Libertine Libertine. They are so creative and I really really like their music. I think the video was shot in the US somewhere?! Not sure.. But it kinda reminds me of travelling, meeting new people and this longing for authenticity in a crazy world. Im getting these Kinfolk vibes, I’m thinking Imogene+Willie… The near and the dear, what matters the most, family and friends. I don’t know, this song just makes me think about a lot of things I guess. In a good way :-)
Happy Thursday y’all!
I just made a first attempt at these rocky road snacks. They are made of dark chocolate, dried apricot, hassle nut, almonds and freeze dried raspberry. Yuuuuuum ;)
Asger the artist strikes again! Alright y’all, proud parent moment coming right up :-)
Last night Asger and I sat down to make some drawings. We talked about what Asger should make and he started to draw. The first drawing he made is the one with the stars and the moon on (I made that). He wanted to make a bird he said. So he started by making the big round shape, looks pretty much like a bird or a penguin to me, and then I asked him where the eyes were, the mouth, wings, feet and so on. And he knew exactly where everything was supposed to be! I was so surprised that he could do all that! It actually looks a little bit like a bird… or some kind of monster maybe, but you can definitely see that he tried to draw a face and a body :-)
The next drawing is supposed to be a fish, it looks like a mouse perhaps, but either way, he knew what he was doing … there is a nose, an eye, legs and arms :-)
And that last drawing is just the sweetest thing ever. When he started to colour I didn’t know what he was doing at first, so I asked him along the way ‘What animal is this?’ Asger says ‘Its a giraffe… a mamma giraffe and a baby giraffe’. Well of course it is, haha. So obvious. Those long necks, hahahha.. So sweet :-)
Happy Wednesday y’all!
Last Friday Asger and I went for a walk at beautiful Langelinie with my grandmother. We felt very much like tourists when we stopped by the little mermaid like every other tourist in Copenhagen must do ;)
I hope you all had a great weekend! We did :)
Night night y’all!
We had a good time at Svanemølle beach today :)
Jumping on the trampoline today;)
